The plot takes place in Germany at the beginning of the 16th century, during the height of the Lutheran Reformation.
The story follows Ruprecht, a soldier returning to his homeland, who encounters Renata, a mysterious young woman claiming to be visited and possessed by an Angel of Fire. Obsessed with her, Ruprecht is drawn into an occult world of black magic, demonology, and the Inquisition.
